What to Do
- Observe nature carefully for a few minutes before writing.
- Use descriptive language and sensory details.
- Express your personal feelings, thoughts, or memories.
Create images in the reader’s mind.
Instead of:
- बगीचे में फूल हैं।
Write:
- लाल और पीले फूल सुबह की धूप में ऐसे चमक रहे थे, जैसे धरती पर छोटे छोटे दीपक जल रहे हों।
- Try to use at least one metaphor, simile, or personification.
Simile (उपमा)
A simile compares two things using जैसे, मानो, or सा/सी.
- बारिश की बूँदें मोतियों जैसी चमक रही थीं।
- बादल आकाश में रुई के फाहों जैसे तैर रहे थे।
- झील का पानी दर्पण सा शांत था।
Metaphor (रूपक)
A metaphor says one thing is another.
- बगीचा रंगों का समुद्र है।
- सूरज आकाश का चमकता दीपक है।
- नदी धरती की धड़कन है।
Personification (मानवीकरण)
Giving human qualities to nature.
- हवा मेरे कानों में धीरे से कुछ कह रही थी।
- फूल मुस्कराकर सुबह का स्वागत कर रहे थे।
- Give your poem a title.
What Not to Do
- Don’t write a list of things you see.
- Don’t simply describe the weather.
- Don’t copy from the internet or use AI.
- Don’t write complete prose paragraphs.
- Don’t focus on grammar perfection. Focus on creativity and expression.
